Giftpack states that it does not sell personal data for monetary value. Some data sharing may still occur when it is necessary to operate the service, such as with fulfillment, payment, infrastructure, or other approved service providers, and certain advertising-related practices can be treated as a “sale” or “share” under specific U.S. privacy laws. The current Privacy Policy is the governing public source for how personal information is collected, used, disclosed, and how privacy rights can be exercised. Enterprise customers may also have contractual privacy terms that apply to their program.
A recipient only needs to provide information required for the specific program. That may include a name, email address, country, delivery address, phone number for a carrier, size, or preferences if those details are necessary for the gift or fulfillment experience. Not every program needs every field. Digital rewards may require less information than physical delivery, and preference data should be optional when it is not necessary. Giftpack’s goal is to collect the data needed to deliver the program without treating unrelated personal information as a requirement.
